Interview with Ann Neumann

Ann Neumann is an expert on death, not the cheeriest title, but one she holds dear. She’s a visiting scholar at The Center for Religion and Media at New York University, contributing editor at The Revealer, a journal on religion and medicine, and author of The Good Death: An Exploration of Dying in America.

I spoke with her about how Americans memorialize their dead after traumatic events, both victims and perpetrators, and how communities use entrenched grieving mechanisms.
